How To Create Timer Pick up Items Unreal Engine 4. We will work with the Game Mode Base (Game Instance Blueprint) of your game and with a new Actor Blueprint (for the Timer Pick up Item). Important ! If you have a Timer made for your game from my Countdown Timer example, then you will have an Integer variable called Minutes, if you didn't have a Timer based on my example, then use the Integer variable for minutes.

Next, open the Game Mode Base, make a new Function, call it Addtime, drag and drop a Get Minutes variable node, of it drag and add a Integer + Integer node with the B pin set to 1, add to the string a Set Minutes variable node, connect the entire string with the Addtime Function, Compile and Save, then close the Game Mode Base Blueprint.

Create a new Actor Blueprint, go to Content Browser > click RMB > select Blueprint Class > Actor Blueprint, for example purposes, let's call it TimerPickupBp. Now, add a Sphere Collision with a Sphere Static Mesh inside it. With the Sphere Collision selected go in to Details panel > Events > select On Component Begin Overlap.

In the Editor Graph, drag of the On Component Begin Overlap, add a Cast To node (set it to the Game Mode Base Blueprint) connect the Object pin with the Other Actor pin of the On Component Begin Overlap node. Next, drag of the Cast To As pin and add the Addtime Function node, Compile and Save, then close the Blueprint.
